What you need to do

Get your pet micro chipped and

Vaccinated against rabies.

One month after vaccination we will take a blood test* to check that your pet has been adequately protected against rabies, and if it is we will issue you with a

Pet Travel Scheme Passport LVI  (official veterinary surgeon) which certifies all the requirements have been met.  Note: Other health certificates may be required.

* YOU WILL HAVE TO WAIT 6 MONTHS FROM WHEN THE BLOOD TEST WAS TAKEN BEFORE YOUR PET CAN RE-ENTER THE UK.

In addition, before you return your pet will need to be treated for certain parasites (fox tapeworm and ticks) 24 to 48 hours before entering the UK.  You will need certificates signed by an official vet certifying these treatments have been given.
