Have you thought about Pet Insurance?
At Penstone Veterinary Group we believe having your pet insured is part of responsible pet ownership. We encourage you to insure your pet to ensure that we never have to compromise the quality of our veterinary care on the basis of cost. Many of our clients already enjoy the peace of mind provided by pet health insurance.
Is pet insurance necessary ? If your pet becomes ill or has an accident the last thing you need to be worried about is the cost of veterinary treatment. Veterinary medicine has become more sophisticated over recent years and as you might expect the costs of treatments are rising. Costs for even non-serious conditions can run to several hundred pounds. In certain cases it may be necessary for your pet to be treated by a specialist veterinary surgeon at a referral centre. Referral treatment costs could exceed £1000 in some cases. Insurance policies cover the costs of referral as part of your pets ongoing claim for a condition, this enables you to take advantage of the best treatments available without the worrying burden of what it is going to cost.
Insurance will cover more than the cost of treatment Depending on the policy you may also be covered for
What won't be covered? Like most other forms of insurance pet insurance has a small excess which you will have to pay on a claim. Routine procedures such as vaccination, neutering, worming and flea treatments are not covered. Medical conditions pre-existing before your policy is taken out will also be excluded from cover.
How do I get my pet insured? We have insurance proposal forms for cats, dogs and rabbits available in our waiting room displays. If you have any questions regarding pet insurance please ask a member of staff or contact us.
